Pir Ghaus Muhammad Dargah is one of the important historic monuments within Lakhpat Fort in western Kutch. Pir Ghaus Muhammad was a Sufi saint and Sayyed of Lakhpat, and his tomb has become one of the defining landmarks of the old fortified town.
The tomb is particularly notable for its architecture. According to the Kachchh District Administration, the structure is built from black stone and stands on a platform measuring approximately 54 feet square and 7 feet high. Its octagonal structure rises into a conical dome approximately 63 feet 3 inches high.
The monument features four arched side entrances with detailed carvings, while the exterior walls are decorated with floral and leaf patterns. Inside, the floor is laid with black and white marble and the grave is covered by a white marble canopy. Quranic passages are also inscribed on the walls.
The tomb remains unfinished, adding another distinctive element to its architectural character. A water tank opposite the tomb is traditionally believed to have healing properties for skin ailments. This is a local belief and should not be presented as a medically established fact.
The Dargah can easily be combined with Lakhpat Fort and Lakhpat Gurudwara. Together, these monuments showcase the remarkably diverse religious and architectural heritage preserved within Lakhpat's historic walls.
